Defenders of Wildlife

Protect Colorado Habitats with Defenders!

Due to cold and adverse weather conditions, the project has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 21st

Please join Defenders of Wildlife and Boulder County Parks and Open Space for our annual Fall Stewardship Project on Sunday, October 21st!

This year, we’ll be building fences around critical forest habitat pockets in Rabbit Mountain Open Space to prevent over-browsing by elk. With few predators on the landscape, elk can congregate in areas and graze for long periods of time, leading to over-browsing and vegetation damage.

With your help, we can keep this habitat beautiful and functional for all!

We invite you to get your hands dirty with other Defenders volunteers as well as Boulder County biologists as we restore this important habitat. Boulder County will provide tools and guidance, and Defenders will provide snacks and lunch.

WHAT: Defenders Fall Stewardship Project

WHEN: Sunday, October 21st, 2018, 8:30am – 1:30pm

WHERE: Boulder County Parks & Open Space Office, 5201 St Vrain Rd, Longmont, CO 80503
