The Protector, The Predator, The Teacher ![]() The Protector, The Predator, The Teacher They are small, wide-eyed and curious of the world around them. What is that strange noise? What is that strange smell? What tickles my nose? As the protector, I must ensure the strange noise will not cause harm. I must ensure the strange smell will not cause harm. I must ensure that what tickles the nose is a good thing. As the predator, that word seems harsh. Let us say, as the provider, I ensure the small, wide-eyed ones get the food they need to grow healthy and strong. I hunt and fish for a purpose, not just because I can. I am also a teacher. I teach right from wrong. I teach self-reliance. I teach self-pride. Perhaps we are not so different from the wildlife around us. Maybe if we stopped long enough to look and listen to our hearts, we might just learn something. |
